Petition · Johnson County, Arkansas

Fund a voluntary live-in program with housing, work and recovery that anyone may leave

To: County Judge Herman Houston and the Johnson County Quorum Court (11 justices of the peace)

Bexar County, Texas runs a diversion center where people can choose treatment instead of jail. Job Corps is a federal live-in job-training program, rated in the Justice Department’s CrimeSolutions clearinghouse. We ask Johnson County to fund a voluntary live-in program with housing, paid work and recovery services that anyone may join or leave.

When it reaches the goal it’s handed to the officials named above at a public meeting, and their answer is posted online. This is a petition to your elected officials — like the clipboard at the courthouse door. It does not put anything on the ballot; in Arkansas and most states that takes ink signatures from registered voters. Names are never shown publicly.
